India is set to expand its underwater warfare capabilities with an additional order of Scorpene-class submarines under Project 75 Additional. The program, involving Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited and Naval Group, aims to capitalize on existing production lines to ensure faster delivery. Featuring advanced propulsion systems and higher indigenous content, the submarines will enhance stealth, endurance, and operational flexibility. Beyond strengthening naval power, the initiative positions India as a potential regional hub for submarine maintenance and support, contributing to long-term strategic and industrial growth.
