France has showcased its Griffon MEPAC (On-Board Mortar for Contact Support), a self-propelled variant of the 6×6 Griffon armored vehicle, publicly unveiled during Bastille Day after successful field tests. Replacing the older MO-120-RT towed mortar, MEPAC features a 120mm semi-automatic mortar with a 10-round-per-minute rate and 13-kilometer range, integrated into the Scorpion digital network. It includes advanced storage for ammunition, a remote 7.62mm machine gun turret, and the Atlas fire support system. Powered by a 400-horsepower engine, it has an 800-kilometer range and supports high mobility for France’s modernized ground forces.
