The Indian Air Force is advancing its strike capabilities through the ADITI initiative, which focuses on converting conventional 100–120 kg bombs into long-range precision-guided munitions. The program seeks to develop a propulsion-based range extension kit combined with advanced guidance systems, enabling engagement of targets beyond 200 kilometers. Equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors, the upgraded weapons will maintain accuracy even in GPS-denied environments. With a targeted circular error probability of less than 5 meters, the system aims to deliver high precision against critical targets. Compatibility with existing aircraft ensures seamless integration, while emphasis on modularity and ease of maintenance supports rapid deployment. This initiative reflects a cost-effective approach to modernizing existing arsenals.
