Huntington Ingalls Industries has been named a participant in the US Defense Microelectronics Activity’s ATSP5 contract, a long-term framework designed to provide rapid access to advanced engineering and technology modernization services. Valued at over $25 billion across 10 years, the program supports defense and federal agencies in overcoming electronics obsolescence, enhancing system resilience, and fielding new capabilities more quickly. HII brings expertise in reverse engineering, microelectronics assurance, and system sustainment, supported by in-house tools and model-based engineering methods. By simplifying procurement and enabling modular acquisition, ATSP5 allows agencies to integrate emerging technologies while maintaining continuity of operations. Oversight through regular program reviews ensures cost, schedule, and performance targets are met, reinforcing the program’s role as a cornerstone of defense technology sustainment.
