Dassault Aviation has strengthened its push into autonomous combat aviation by leading a $200 million investment in Harmattan AI. The partnership focuses on embedding controlled and supervised AI into future air combat platforms, spanning crewed fighters and uncrewed systems. Harmattan’s technologies will support ISR, electronic warfare, and drone coordination roles, complementing Dassault’s work on Rafale modernization and next-generation combat aircraft. The funding will expand Harmattan’s operational footprint and manufacturing capacity, while Dassault provides systems integration expertise and access to international defense markets. The move highlights growing European emphasis on AI sovereignty and trusted autonomy in military aviation.
