Germany’s Bundeswehr has signed a major amendment to its Puma infantry fighting vehicle program, commissioning joint venture PSM to deliver 200 additional vehicles starting in 2028. Valued at €4.2 billion, the deal evenly splits work between Rheinmetall and KNDS Deutschland and includes protection modules and logistics containers. The expansion builds on a 2023 framework agreement and incorporates a defined modernization pathway, with a future S2 upgrade expected in 2026 to address obsolescence and introduce new capabilities such as drone defense.
