KNDS Deutschland has been tasked with manufacturing 48 Boxer vehicles for the German Armed Forces.
The 352 million euro ($409 million) agreement calls for the delivery of 38 Boxer heavily protected ambulances and 10 Boxer driver training vehicles, with the possibility of purchasing 150 more ambulances and 100 more driver training vehicles.
In accordance with the agreement, deliveries are expected to begin in early 2028.
The purchase is a component of a 4.5 billion euro ($5.25 billion) framework agreement to provide 270 Boxer automobiles to Germany and the Netherlands.
As a subcontractor to ARTEC, the original equipment manufacturer of the Boxer and a joint venture between KNDS Deutschland and Rheinmetall Landsysteme, KNDS is carrying out the contract.

The Boxer ambulance serves as the first connection in the medical rescue chain, providing vital pre-hospital treatment for victims.
Depending on the kind of injuries, it has a variable mission module that can handle a large number of casualties, and it can also offer critical treatment as needed.
The ambulance version of the Boxer infantry vehicle offers the same high degree of crew protection, guaranteeing safety during operational deployments.
The purpose of the driver training car is to train and certify individuals to drive the Boxer.
The car is used solely for training purposes during peacetime. Drivers don’t need to get used to using operational versions since its overall weight and driving dynamics are comparable to those of other Boxer models.
