General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) will receive $988 million from the US Navy to modernize the digital networks that integrate its ships, aircraft, and shore commands.

The contract, under the Ship and Air C5ISR Systems Support program, consists of a one-year base period, four one-year options, and a six-month extension.

GDIT’s responsibilities include upgrading, integrating, and sustaining C5ISR systems across all surface combatants, including aircraft carriers, guided missile ships, Coast Guard vessels, plus manned and unmanned aircraft and shore stations. The program covers engineering, procurement, logistics, and onboard installation to maintain fleet operational readiness.

This initiative builds on prior Navy modernization efforts, including Lockheed Martin’s micro-electronics upgrade for MH-60R helicopters (April 2024), Leidos’ $248 million unmanned systems support contract (October 2024), and Kratos’ AN/SPY-1 radar sustainment Phase 1 contract (October 2025).
