The US Navy has again selected GE Aerospace’s LM2500 gas turbines to power its next pair of Flight III Arleigh Burke destroyers. The engines, widely regarded for reliability and lifecycle support, have been delivered in large numbers to both US and allied navies. GE reports more than 700 LM2500 turbines supplied worldwide, supporting 39 navies across multiple ship classes. The latest order reinforces the engine’s role as a trusted propulsion solution for long-endurance surface combat operations.
