At an international special operations exhibition in Martignas-sur-Jalle, Airbus has presented the prototype of the French Army’s NH90 Caïman Standard 2 multirole helicopter. The aircraft is a component of Paris’ plan to incorporate next-generation capabilities into units assigned to extraction, fire support, and other rapid deployment tasks that necessitate low visibility. The Standard 2 includes components designed for covert operations, such an infrared camera with a laser pointer and designator, an advanced radio communications kit, and new weapon systems.
