Saab and France’s Direction générale de l’armement (DGA) signed a joint declaration of intent concerning the potential sale of Saab’s GlobalEye Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft, along with ground support equipment, training, and services.
The agreement, formalized at the Paris Air Show, outlines DGA’s plan to purchase two GlobalEye aircraft, with an option for two more.
The next step involves completing the final procurement notification, with the contract expected to be finalized in the near future. However, no binding contract has yet been signed, and Saab has not yet received an official order.
GlobalEye offers an advanced multi-domain AEW&C capability, featuring a comprehensive set of active and passive sensors that enable long-distance detection and identification across air, sea, and land domains. This system supports armed forces by providing timely, actionable intelligence to improve situational awareness and threat detection.
