Three-dimensionally printed dark ceramics that can withstand harsh conditions may soon be incorporated into America’s hypersonic aircraft and missiles. Researchers at the Purdue Applied Research Institute (PARI) are investigating the use of additive manufacturing to create dark ceramics, which are perfect for hypersonic vehicles due to their durability and increased resistance to degradation. According to reports, the team can create dark ceramics in precise shapes and sizes, with high-resolution surfaces, utilizing digital light processing (DLP) 3D printers.
