“For the first time, the Maldives has introduced its new Ajban 4×4 light armored vehicles to the general public.
Ajban systems in their 442A version, which is intended for observation, command, and communication duties, were featured at the presentation, which took place in Malé during the military’s 133rd anniversary march.
As part of the UAE’s collaboration with the South Asian government, the state-owned EDGE Group of Abu Dhabi verified the Maldives’ unannounced acquisition of the platforms.
The Ajban technology is produced and supplied by NIMR Automotive, a subsidiary of the EDGE Group.
“As a strategic defense partner to the Maldives, we have supplied the [Maldives National Defence Force] with high-mobility AJBAN 442A vehicles, strengthening our continuing commitment to providing our partners throughout the region with mission-ready solutions,” said the EDGE Group.
