The Netherlands has taken delivery of its first rMCM vessel, marking progress in the Belgium-Netherlands collaborative effort to modernize mine countermeasure fleets. The 82.6-meter ships combine autonomous surface, underwater, and aerial systems to conduct remote mine detection and disposal operations while minimizing crew risk. Naval Group leads vessel design while Exail integrates mission systems and naval drones. Scheduled to reach full operational capability by 2030, the program strengthens European maritime security cooperation, with France gaining access to the technology for its own future mine warfare support ships.
