Norway has deployed F-35 multi-role fighter jets and National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) to Poland to secure the airspace above Rzeszów Airport. This airport serves as a critical NATO logistics hub, facilitating the flow of essential supplies to Ukraine, and its protection falls within the broader framework of the Alliance’s integrated air and missile defense. The deployment, which began in December 2024 and was initially set to run until Easter 2025 but has since been extended to summer 2025, also includes approximately 100 Norwegian soldiers. This action underscores NATO’s commitment to reinforcing its eastern flank and ensuring the continued delivery of aid to Ukraine.
