Elbit Systems has secured a $260-million deal from Airbus Defence and Space to supply its J-MUSIC DIRCM self-protection suite for the German Air Force’s A400M fleet. The system will be installed on 23 aircraft during scheduled maintenance, supporting their role in tactical and medevac operations. Certification is expected this summer, with final integration by 2032.
The J-MUSIC system offers fully autonomous protection against heat-seeking missiles, particularly MANPADS, using advanced lasers and imaging sensors to track and disrupt threats without crew input. Compact and modular, it enhances survivability in high-risk environments.
