Denmark has placed an order with Finnish defense company Patria for 129 units of the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) 6×6. Deliveries are set to begin this year to prepare Danish troops for operational use by 2026. This procurement follows Denmark’s formal entry into the multinational CAVS initiative—joining Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and Germany—after signing the key agreements for research and development, a framework deal, and lifecycle management. Initially joining the program in April through a technical arrangement, Denmark will use these vehicles for infantry and engineering operations in roles such as command, communication, medical evacuation, and electronic warfare. The CAVS vehicle, based on Patria’s 6×6 platform, is built in Finland with Danish components and emphasizes high protection, mobility, and versatility. Patria has received close to 1,000 orders across participating nations and has already delivered over 200 units.
