Collins Aerospace and the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force are establishing a new avionics service center to support European F-35 and CH-47F fleets. Designed as a long-term government-owned, contractor-operated facility, it will provide depot-level maintenance, repairs, and supply chain services beginning in 2026. Located at the RNLASF Air Support Command base, the center will integrate Collins’ global military service network. It complements existing Dutch sustainment infrastructure, including the F-35 readiness center in Soesterberg and Pratt & Whitney’s F135 engine depot, forming a full-lifecycle support ecosystem. The initiative ensures faster turnaround for avionics, higher fleet availability, and enhanced readiness for increasingly contested environments. Over the past year, the Netherlands has advanced multiple modernization efforts, from Collins’ expanded diagnostics capabilities to Thales Nederland’s NH90 avionics upgrades. The country has also taken part in joint European exercises to test interoperable, networked avionics focused on secure data sharing, sensor fusion, and electronic warfare resilience.
