Belgian firm John Cockerill Defense will convert 113 military vehicles into ambulances for Ukraine, including 11 BV-206 all-terrain vehicles and 102 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U4000 trucks. Deliveries are planned from late 2025 into early 2026. The project involves Mercedes and Lambert Group and supports jobs at Cockerill’s Aubange facility. The BV-206 carries up to 17 personnel and 2,250 kg of cargo with a 132-hp engine, while the Unimog U4000 accommodates seven people, 3,000 kg payload, and a 222-hp engine. The initiative follows prior upgrades of M113 and BV-206 vehicles in 2023–2024.
