The Royal Canadian Navy has tapped Rolls-Royce to deliver essential propulsion equipment for its upcoming River-class destroyers, currently under construction. The deal covers three ships in the initial production batch.

For each ship, Rolls-Royce will provide the MT30 marine turbine, a Mission Bay Handling System, and MTU Series 4000 diesel generators. The company has finalized the turbine and bay system deal with Irving Shipbuilding, while the diesel power system contract is progressing through discussions with Wajax Power Systems, their Canadian licensee.
