Ottawa has secured US authorization for the acquisition of up to 60 JLTVs and nine cargo trailers in a deal worth $160 million. The package features advanced communications gear, increased mobility, and armor enhancements, along with spare and repair parts. The JLTVs will allow the Canadian Forces to better meet emerging threats and operate alongside allies in multinational deployments. Indiana-based AM General will deliver the vehicles, with offset arrangements to be decided in future talks.
