The US Navy has contracted BAE Systems for $30 million to modernize the widely used AN/APX-123A(V) IFF transponder.
The updated transponders will be installed on multiple assets, including UAVs, naval platforms, and rotorcraft.
Key support roles include air traffic regulation, missile defense integration, and coordinated military operations.
BAE’s teams in Texas and New York will lead the upgrade process, finishing deliveries by 2027.
