The US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has chosen BAE Systems to continue developing and supporting the deployment of the Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Operations Kit (BATDOK) via the new Force Optimisation through Rapid-prototyping, Gear Enhancements & Innovative Technology (FORGE-IT) program.
By working together, FORGE-IT and BATDOK will improve and modernize the skills of warfighters, allowing them to offer medical help to wounded servicemembers on the battlefield and guaranteeing that they get the right care throughout their rehabilitation.
From the moment of injury through recovery, BATDOK, a software created by AFRL with the help of BAE Systems, keeps a complete and trustworthy record of injuries and treatments. In the past, the only records of battlefield medical treatment were made on paper. On the other hand, BATDOK electronically records medical treatment, ensuring that the details of a patient’s injury and field treatment are seamlessly transmitted to the nurses and doctors in charge of their continuing care.
Building on BATDOK, FORGE-IT will use integrated artificial intelligence capabilities to power clinical decision support, which will improve remote patient monitoring and medical treatment in the field.
