Babcock and New Zealand-based Company-X will jointly deliver virtual-reality training solutions to militaries worldwide. Revealed at the Indo Pacific Expo, the agreement advances New Zealand’s goal of increasing domestic industry participation in defense programs. Company-X already provides VR tools used by the Royal New Zealand Navy. The partnership aligns with new procurement rules emphasizing local collaboration and long-term support. New Zealand is also preparing a NZ$300-million innovation fund for defense technologies. Recent acquisitions—such as MH-60R Seahawks and upgraded NH90s—demonstrate the country’s continued modernization trajectory.
