The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has officially received the final nine of its 72 F-35A Lightning II combat planes, completing a procurement deal initiated in 2010. These advanced aircraft will operate alongside the RAAF’s existing F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft at RAAF Base Williamtown in New South Wales, aligning with Canberra’s national defense policy. The F-35A system is now operational across three squadrons and a training group within the RAAF, based in both the Northern Territory and New South Wales.
