The US Army is preparing to expand its AMPV fleet with an additional order of 50 vehicles aimed at restoring inventory levels following equipment transfers to Ukraine. The program supports modernization of armored formations by replacing legacy M113 vehicles with a more survivable and versatile tracked platform. Built on a Bradley-based chassis, the AMPV enhances mobility, protection, and firepower across several mission configurations. Increased production rates and ongoing procurement contracts underscore the army’s effort to strengthen combat readiness and sustain armored brigade capabilities through the late 2020s.
