Israel’s Ministry of Defense has finalized a $150-million agreement with US-based AM General to acquire hundreds of Humvees and related spare parts, funded through US military aid. The vehicles will reinforce the Israeli Ground Forces following equipment depletion from prolonged engagements in Gaza. The customized Humvees will carry more than ten troops, offer casualty evacuation capabilities, and deliver fire support. Although Humvees are being phased out in the US by JLTVs, Israel continues to procure both—having ordered 75 JLTVs in 2023 and additional units in late 2024 via foreign and direct sales.
