“M-tron Industries has won a $5.5 million production contract to provide high-performance radio frequency (RF) components for a vital US naval weapon system.
The award includes robust crystal and “lumped element” filters, both of which are made for demanding working conditions. The program that M-tron has backed for about ten years includes the components.
M-tron’s factory in Orlando, Florida, will handle manufacturing, with production expected to continue through 2026. At the very least, it is anticipated that the larger plan will continue to be in effect until 2035.
Although the precise maritime platform was not revealed, similar RF technologies are commonly employed in radar, electronic warfare, and secure communication systems.
