The Iveco-Oto Melara Consortium (CIO) was granted a contract by the Italian Ministry of Defense to supply 76 Medium Armored Combat Vehicles (VBM) for the army. The contract calls for 60 combat variants and 16 anti-tank carrier variants of CIO’s VBM Plus 8×8 vehicle for the military’s Second Medium Brigade. Additionally, it contains integrated logistical assistance as well as an unknown quantity of 10×10 rescue and recovery vehicles to assist the operational capacity of the upcoming VBM fleet.
