To speed up submarine delivery schedules, the Defense Logistics Agency has tapped six vendors through a $5-billion procurement contract for the Virginia-class submarine fleet. The focus is on enhancing supply chain responsiveness and system readiness for the Navy.
This indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity deal, known as the Maritime Acquisition Advancement Contract, comes with five annual extension options worth $1 billion each, potentially totaling $10 billion. Participating firms include Culmen International, Fairwinds Technologies, SupplyCore, Atlantic Diving Supply, ASRC Federal, and S&K Aerospace.
