Pratt & Whitney is boosting its aerospace manufacturing output through a $200-million expansion of its Columbus, Georgia production site. The investment will introduce advanced forging equipment designed to accelerate manufacturing of key rotating engine components used in both defense and commercial aviation programs. Expected to significantly raise production rates, the new press will support engines such as the GTF commercial family and the F135 fighter engine. The initiative comes amid rising global demand for narrowbody aircraft and sustainment services. With thousands of engines already delivered worldwide, the Columbus facility remains central to RTX’s long-term strategy for strengthening supply chains and supporting next-generation aviation programs.
